Nevada Insurance 101

When it comes to selecting a health insurance plan, there are many options, but it is important to know what kind of policy you are buying to avoid gaps in coverage.

It is especially important to enroll in a health insurance policy this year, because effective October 1, 2019, consumers can only purchase health insurance during open enrollment or if they qualify for a special enrollment period. During the 80th Legislative Session, legislators approved Senate Bill 482 eliminating year-round enrollment for plans purchased off the Exchange, unless you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period with a Qualifying Life Event. Prior to this, Nevadans could purchase health insurance off-Exchange anytime of the year with 90 days waiting period. Read, learn, and then compare plans and their rates with our Rate Wizard Tool.
